If your credit card has been stolen, lost, damaged or never received, there are certain steps you should take to help protect your account from any unauthorized charges. Whether you'd like more time to find your card or wish to cancel your card and receive a replacement, it's important to act fast.
If you think your credit card may be lost or stolen, some credit card issuers offer a card lock feature, which may be used if you would like a little more time to find your card. Check with your card issuer for availability.
As a Citi® customer, you can easily lock your credit card by accessing Citi®Quick Lock online or within your Citi Mobile® app. Citi Quick Lock instantly blocks new purchases and cash advances-while allowing recurring transactions such as payments, balance transfers and credits to continue without disruption. If you locate your card, you can unlock it just as easily as you locked it. However, if you conclude that your credit card is lost or stolen, please see step two for details on requesting a replacement card.
If your Citi® credit card has been stolen, lost, damaged or was never received, contact your card issuer for a replacement card. As a Citi® customer, you have an option to log in to your online account and securely request a replacement card. You will be prompted to review recent transactions for any suspicious activity as part of the process.1
After your request is received, your card will be closed and you will be issued a new one.
1You do not need to review recent transactions if you are reporting your credit card damaged
When you receive your new Citi® card in the mail, be sure to update merchants with whom you have scheduled payments to prevent any late payments. As a Citi® customer, you can track the status of your replacement credit card online.
After completing this process, you can feel confident that you've taken necessary action to handle your damaged, never received, lost or stolen credit card.
