1. Spend & Save — Terms & Conditions
When you enroll in Spend & Save, you will designate a Citi® checking account as a Source Account and Citi® savings account as a Destination Account. The Source Account and Destination Account need to be linked under the same Citi® Online and Citi Mobile® App login information in order to be designated. When you make a purchase using a Citi credit or debit card from your designated “Spending Accounts”, we’ll round up each transaction amount to the nearest whole dollar (your actual purchase amount won’t increase). So, if you spend $5.25, we’ll add $0.75 towards a running tally of round-ups. Your original purchase amount will remain the same, and any applicable interest, fees, and rewards earned are based on that amount. Pending purchases will not be included in the roundup tally until deemed final, as these amounts may change after posting. Business checking and savings accounts are not eligible for Spend & Save. Purchases with Citi business credit or debit cards will not contribute to your round-up tally.
The total from your round-ups tally (up to $15) will be transferred from your designated Citi checking account (“Source Account”) to your designated Citi savings account (“Destination Account”) based on the frequency you choose, either daily or weekly.
If you selected daily transfers, your first transfer will take place on the following day, but only if you made purchases that counted towards your round-up tally and they have posted to your account. If you selected weekly transfers, your first transfer will take place on the next occurrence of the day of the week you chose.
The maximum round-up transfer amount is $15 for Spend & Save. If you accumulate more than $15 in your round-up tally, any amount over $15 will be added to your next scheduled transfer tally.
When enrolling in Spend & Save, you will be asked to select a minimum available balance amount below which Citi will not initiate a Spend & Save transfer. You must select a minimum available balance amount that is greater than or equal to $50. So, if you set a $50 minimum available balance amount and your Source Account’s available balance is below $50 at the time of a scheduled Spend & Save transfer, Citi will not initiate the transfer to savings.
If your Source Account’s available balance is below your chosen minimum balance on your scheduled transfer date, Citi will look at your available balance for the next two calendar days. Citi will complete your transfer if your balance meets the minimum available balance on one of those days. If your Source Account’s available balance is below your chosen minimum balance on your scheduled transfer day and the next two consecutive calendar days, Citi will automatically unenroll you from Spend & Save.
While your available balance is below the minimum balance amount, round-ups will continue to tally from your credit or debit purchases.
After enrolling in Spend & Save, you can view your previous Spend & Save activity, such as past Spend & Save transfers and the purchases included in a round-up tally, directly from your Spend & Save dashboard. You can also view previous transfers to savings in Citi Mobile and Citi Online by viewing your account statements or transaction history. Your Citi account statements are the official record of your account activity.
After enrollment, you can view and track your current round-ups tally, as well as edit your enrolled “Spending Accounts”, transfer frequency, or required minimum balance amount at any point directly from your Spend & Save dashboard. You can also unenroll from Spend & Save directly from your Spend & Save dashboard. Spend & Save transfers may be deemed recurring variable electronic fund transfers. Accordingly, you acknowledge and agree such transfers may be in any amount from $00.01 to $15.00 and will occur at the frequency you set at enrollment or upon changing your options. You will not receive advance notice of these transfers except as described above.
