Key Highlights
- Citi Ventures announced a strategic cybersecurity investment in Prophet Security, an agentic AI platform for security operations centers.
- Prophet Security's platform empowers security teams to address AI-enabled cyber threats faster and with greater accuracy.
Threat actors are increasingly using AI tools to execute attacks with increasing speed and velocity. To protect themselves in this dynamic threat landscape, organizations must adapt quickly and empower their security teams with robust AI-native tools to take on any challenge.
Prophet’s Agentic AI Security Operations Center (SOC) Platform is empowering organizations to meet these new challenges. Prophet AI understands the importance of eliminating manual, repetitive tasks so that SOC teams can respond to threats quicker – not get bogged down by the vast quantity of alerts – and ultimately focus on high priority risks that are the greatest threats to enterprises.
The AI SOC market is poised to become the next breakout subsector in cybersecurity, a market projected to grow from $1.6 billion to over $5.6 billion by 2032. Prophet is at the epicenter of this wave, creating efficiencies that now make it possible to address threats in seconds, not minutes. That is why we are excited about our investment in Prophet.
The rise of the AI SOC analyst
SOCs are the command centers for enterprise cyber defense. Traditionally, SOC teams have been short-staffed and relied on a combination of disparate security tools and manual processes to investigate threats.
Then a wave of Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) tools promised automation that would address the rising volume of security alerts. While helpful, these platforms depend on rules-based decision trees, limiting their ability to handle more complex, subjective and novel attacks. These tools also came with significant burden, an overhead both to set up and to maintain.
Agentic AI SOC platforms serve as a force multiplier for security teams. By leveraging the power of advanced Large Language Models (LLMs) like GPT, Gemini and Anthropic, Prophet's AI works alongside human analysts to automate the most time-consuming parts of an investigation to dramatically accelerate response times.
A differentiated product and inspired leadership team
Prophet’s Agentic AI SOC platform is delivered as a seamless SaaS application that integrates directly into analysts' security stack, including Splunk, Proofpoint, Okta, ServiceNow and Slack. What truly sets Prophet apart is its commitment to embedding deep security expertise directly into its Agentic AI SOC platform. Prophet is built by seasoned domain experts who have encoded their own real-world best practices into the core workflows. By training the Agentic AI on how elite analysts work and how investigations are performed, Prophet provides an enhanced level of context and intelligence that elevates performance beyond generic capabilities.
The visionary team behind Prophet Security includes co-founder and CEO Kamal Shah and co-founder and CTO Vibhav Sreekanti. The duo previously worked together at StackRox, a leading cloud-native security company acquired by Red Hat, where Shah was CEO and Sreekanti was VP of Engineering. Their experience in building and scaling world-class security products has attracted customers from Fortune 500 companies and enterprises across financial services, health care, manufacturing, tech and media including Compass Real Estate, Instacart and Udemy.
