If you’re a Costco member, you may be able to earn Costco Cash Back Rewards on gas purchases with the Costco Anywhere Visa Card. It offers great cash back rewards on fuel as well as other purchases, allowing you to save money.

Cash Back Rewards for your gas purchases
The Costco Anywhere Visa Card offers cash back rewards for gas and fuel spending. Cardmembers earn 5% cash back on gas at Costco and 4% cash back on other eligible gas and electric vehicle (EV) charging purchases for the first $7,000 combined spend per year, and then 1% thereafter.
Other Cash Back Reward opportunities
In addition to cash back on gas and EV charging, Costco Anywhere Visa cardmembers can also earn the following cash back rates:
- 3% cash back on restaurants and eligible travel, including Costco Travel
- 2% cash back on all other purchases from Costco and Costco.com
- 1% cash back on all other purchases
How to redeem your Cash Back Rewards
Costco Anywhere Visa Card members, receive cash back rewards via a reward certificate issued with your February billing statement for purchases through your December statement. Any Costco Anywhere Visa Credit Card cardholder whose card is - open, who is an active Costco member and has earned more than $1 in rewards is eligible to receive a reward certificate.
There are several ways you may receive the reward certificate:
- Cardmembers not enrolled in Paperless with Citi have their credit card reward certificate issued with their February statement.
- Cardmembers enrolled in Paperless with Citi get their credit card reward certificate via email on, or shortly after, the February statement closing date. Emailed credit card reward certificates are sent separately and are not attached to digital statements.
- You can also access your credit card reward certificate via the Citi Mobile® App shortly after your February statement closes. In that case, you need to log in and click “Access Certificate” or “Redeem” to view your certificate on your mobile device.
Once you’ve received your credit card reward certificate, you can redeem it for cash or merchandise at any U.S. Costco warehouse, including Puerto Rico. The Costco warehouse may fulfill your cash back request via check at their discretion.
Your credit card reward certificate expires on December 31st, the year it was issued. The expiration date is featured on the certificate. (For more information on reward certificates, check out our FAQs.)
