How to Redeem Costco Credit Card Rewards

The Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi gives Costco members the opportunity to earn cash back rewards from their purchases.

Let’s look at how to earn cash back rewards with the Costco Anywhere Visa Card.

How to Earn Costco Credit Card Rewards

The Costco Anywhere Visa Card lets you earn cash back rewards at any location that accepts Visa® cards. This card also offers an additional percentage back on certain spending categories.

Here’s a breakdown of the cash back categories you’ll get with the Costco Anywhere Visa:

  • 4% back on eligible gas and EV charging purchases, including at Costco, for the first $7000 in purchases per year, then 1% back for future purchases
  • 3% back on restaurant and eligible travel purchases, including Costco Travel
  • 2% back on all other Costco and Costco.com purchases
  • 1% back on all other purchases

Redeeming Rewards Earned from Your Costco Anywhere Visa

With the Costco Anywhere Visa Card, you receive your cash back reward in a reward certificate issued with your February billing statement. Any Costco Anywhere Visa Credit Card cardholder whose card is still open, who is an active Costco member and has earned more than $1 in rewards is eligible to receive a reward certificate.

Citi issues annual credit card reward certificates at the close of your February billing statement. You can also access reward certificates through the Citi Mobile® App.

How to Use Your Costco Cash Rewards

Once you’ve received a reward certificate, you can only spend your certificate at physical Costco warehouses. You can’t use the certificate online, on your own credit card payments or on other Citi credit card rewards. However, you can redeem your reward certificate for cash at a Costco location.

Keep in mind that all reward certificates issued in February expire on December 31st of the year in which they’re issued. The expiration date will also be listed on your rewards certificate.
