Congratulating Lakera on its recent acquisition

Citi Ventures announced its investment in Lakera, a leading real-time Gen AI security company, in August 2024. At the time we highlighted a key differentiator for why Lakera stood out from others in the the LLM security market: its proprietary training data. Lakera’s ability to create an early, and substantial, data moat made it a category leader, helping enterprises protect themselves against bad actors as they were progressing on their AI journeys.
In addition to Lakera’s products, we were inspired by its founder and CEO David Haber’s vision for an agentic future and the need for a security and trust layer as these agents transact. Fast forward to 2025, all the talk in tech circles is about agentic workflows. All the talk in security circles is how to secure agentic workflows.
We are excited by the news that Check Point will be acquiring Lakera to augment its cyber security portfolio. Congratulations go out to David Haber and the entire Lakera team. They have had a great run, and we look forward to what comes next!
