Aldo Alvarez is the head of D10X Institutional Clients Group (ICG) for Citi’s Latin America (LATAM) Markets and Securities Services business, and is the lead Entrepreneur-in-Residence and Program Manager for the LATAM region. His work focuses on building ventures and incubating new fintech products and startups for the bank. He is also responsible for encouraging internal entrepreneurship, partnering with fintechs, and exploring innovation and growth opportunities for Citi within the areas of foreign exchange, fixed income, securities services, custody and clearing of transactions, credit, commodities, equities, and asset securitization.

Prior to Citi Aldo was the VP of Product at Konfio, where he led the strategy for the development of new fintech products for small- and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs). He was also responsible for creating Konfio’s first insurtech product, "Life Insurance,” for more than 30,000 business owners in Mexico. Aldo was the founder and CEO of, a startup that functioned as a two-sided marketplace (e-commerce and donation-based crowdfunding) and published social good content. While at Aporta, Aldo obtained a patent from the Mexican government that allows the issuance of immediate tax receipts on electronic payments.

Earlier in his career Aldo was an investment professional at private equity firms Palladium Equity Partners and Wyndham Global Partners, and later worked at Bank of America as an investment banking analyst in the Financial Sponsors and Leveraged Finance groups. Aldo holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin. He grew up in Monterrey, Mexico and currently lives in New York City.
