102 About the author Stephen Campbell is Managing Director at Citi Private Bank, and Chairman of the Global Family Office Group. He is responsible for advising clients around the world on a range of family office organizational strategies, family governance and leadership matters, and investment management best practices. Steve has published widely on these and other topics in leading journals. Previously, Steve was Chief Investment Officer of a Seattle-based family office. In this capacity, he managed a large diverse portfolio of traditional and alternative investments, and was also Managing Director of an early-stage venture capital fund where he led investments in Internet, consumer, and technology companies. He has been a board member and advisor to several private companies, private equity funds, and hedge funds. Prior to joining the family office, Steve was founder and Chief Executive Officer of two fin tech start-up companies, which were acquired by Fidelity Investments and HCL Technologies. He spent much of his early career with Fidelity Investments in the United States and Europe where he held senior executive roles leading investment research, international technology, global trading technology and M&A organizations. Steve completed advanced studies at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University. He resides in Seattle with his family.
