Citi Foundation Programs
Citi Foundation works to promote economic progress in communities around the world and focuses on initiatives that expand financial inclusion and strengthen low-income families and communities. Through a "More than Philanthropy" approach, Citi's business resources and human capital enhance our philanthropic investments and impact.
Citi Bulgaria focuses its efforts on Foundation programs that help young people develop an entrepreneurial mindset and enhance youth economic opportunities through financial literacy tools and resources to set them on the path to economic progress. Citi Bulgaria supports these programs by providing Foundation funding and volunteer support.
Currently, in collaboration with its NGO partners, Citi Bulgaria is supporting the following youth programs:
- The Company program is implemented in secondary schools. Each year the program reaches about 2000 secondary school students throughout the country. The program teaches students key financial concepts and models, helps them understand how a business woks and helps them acquire basic entrepreneurial skills. Junior Achievement Bulgaria
- The Start-up Enterprise program is implemented in leading universities in Bulgaria. Following the ‘learning by doing’ model, students register a limited company around a business idea. The acquired skills, knowledge and experience build confidence and help young people better prepare for success. Junior Achievement Bulgaria
- Rinker Youth Challenge empowers urban youth, by developing their entrepreneurial mind-set and leadership skills. The program aims to equip over 500 young people with the necessary business and soft skills needed to develop their own enterprises, and support them through the most difficult first steps of their real business venture.
