Our Role in the Community

Through Citi Foundation, Citi’s social investment arm, the bank works to promote financial literacy and enable youth through entrepreneurship & microfinance programs around the world, including Bahrain. In this context, Citi and the Citi Foundation have been consistently active players in the local community for the past two decades through partnerships with reputed NGOs active in youth empowerment. This helped build necessary life and entrepreneurial skills for thousands of young people in Bahrain alone throughout this period.

INJAZ is a non-profit organization that was established back in 2005 by Her Highness Shaikha Hessa Bint Khalifa Al-Khalifa. It is also a member of Junior Achievements Worldwide established in 1919 in USA and member of INJAZ Al-Arab "MENA Regional Office of JAW". Citi Foundation has been a partner of INJAZ across more than 10 countries for the past 15 years. The Foundation has supported several programs under INJAZ Bahrain’s umbrella including the exclusive “Banks in Action” program that kicked off the partnership, Innovation Camp, The Company, and Personal Finance. Under this partnership, Citi Bahrain’s volunteers continue to deliver several programs to students in the Kingdom as well as host programs at its premises.

Through the annual Global Community Day activities, Citi Bahrain’s employees along with their families and friends, volunteer every year to benefit others that are less fortunate. Citi Bahrain has partnered with several NGOs through hosting various activities as part of the Global Community Day including but not limited to Migrant Protection Workers Society, Bahrain Food Bank, Royal Charity Organization for Orphans, and Tafaol Center for children with special needs.
