Luke Randell is Interim CEO of Citi Australia and Head of Markets & Securities Services for Citi in Australia and New Zealand.
Prior to being appointed Head of Markets & Securities Services, Mr. Randell was based in Japan where he was Head of the Institutional Clients Group (ICG) and Representative Director of the Markets business in Japan.
As Head of ICG, he was responsible for the oversight of Market & Securities Services, Investment Banking, Capital Markets, Corporate Banking and Trade and Treasury Solutions (TTS). From 2012 to January 2015, Mr. Randell was also Head of Markets and Securities Services for Citi in Japan.
Before moving to Japan, Mr. Randell was Co-Head of Markets as well as Head of Equities for Citi in Australia and New Zealand, a role he assumed in 2009. Prior to this role, he was based in London where he was Head of Equity Derivatives for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) from 2005.
Mr. Randell has 30 years of experience in capital markets across various geographies covering Australia, Asia Pacific and EMEA. He joined Citi in 1991 through County NatWest where he was a Director of Portfolio and Index Trading.
From 1995 to 1998, Mr. Randell was Head of Equity Trading for Salomon Smith Barney/County NatWest in Australia and New Zealand, covering also activity in Hong Kong and Japan markets.
In 1998, when Citi acquired Country Natwest, Mr. Randell became Managing Director and Head of Equity Trading and Derivatives.
Mr. Randell holds a Business Degree from The University of Technology, Sydney, and a Graduate Diploma in Financial Markets from Macquarie University. He is a registered Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Australia.
