How can I access Citibank Global Transfers?

You can access Citibank Global Transfers in 2 easy steps:

1. Click here to sign on to Citibank Online.
2. Once you have successfully signed on click on the ‘Transfers & Payments’ icon on the top and click on “Citibank Global Transfers – Instant Foreign Currency Fund Transfers within Citibank worldwide” link below “Funds Transfers outside UAE” section. Click here for a detailed explanation.

What do I require to initiate a Citibank Global Transfer?

You will have to first add the recipient as a ‘Payee’ on Citibank Online before you initiate a Citibank Global Transfer. This will have to be done only the first time for each recipient. 

To add a payee click on ‘Transfers & Payments’ menu option and click on ‘Add a Payee’ under the ‘Payee List’ section. Select the payee’s destination country and enter the payees Citibank account number in that country. Please ensure you enter the account number correctly. 

IMPORTANT NOTE: The system will only validate that the Citibank account number entered is valid in the destination country that the customer selects. It will not validate that the account is in the name of person identified as the payee.

Once you have added the recipient as a payee all you need to do is select the payee from the payee list whilst initiating a Citibank Global Transfer.

How will I know if the funds have been transferred?

Once the transfer has been processed, the system will display a confirmation of the transaction. The confirmation will include the new balance for the originating account, the transfer and fee amount, the destination account and country, and the reference number for the transfer. To view or print out a record of the transfer, please click on the “View Record” link.

What is the fee applicable for this service?

This service is available at a nominal fee of US$5.00 per transfer.

Is there a limit to the amount of transfer or the number of transfers I can make in a day?

Citibank account holders can transfer a maximum of US$ 17,500 and Citigold customers can transfer maximum of US$ 35,000 per day. The number of transfers you can make is a maximum of 3 in a day.
