Citi Handlowy's Unikasa Provides Security & Reliability for Payments

As many as 400 shops have already joined the Unikasa network and they allow their customers to pay utility bills via Unikasa. The Unikasa Bill Payment Network is designed to meet the needs of customers who want to save time and be sure that their bills are paid correctly and on time. For over a year now, Citi Handlowy, in cooperation with eCard, has been offering its customers an option to pay their bills also via the Internet.

A significant advantage of the Unikasa Bill Payment Networks is its simplicity - after the customers hands a bill to a cashier, the cashier registers the payment in the system; then the customer pays the bill in cash (together with a commission fee) and receives a confirmation of payment in the form of a receipt. Next, a transfer of funds to the creditor's (bill issuer) account is made on the basis of the information registered in the system.

Apart from saving time, as data from bills are read automatically, the customers of Unikasa, at a low cost (the commission fee is from PLN 0.89 per bill), can be sure that their bills will be paid correctly and on time, which is guaranteed by Citi Handlowy. The Bank ensures high security of the system and is responsible for clarifying any issues and complaints regarding making payments via the Unikasa network.

As of March 2007, customers shopping on the Internet have been able to choose Unikasa as their payment method and instead of going to the post office they can pay for their online purchases at any Unikasa point.

At present Unikasa terminals are located in the largest supermarket chains, such as Tesco and Real, in Savia and Elea shops as well as in the Customer Service Points of Telekomunikacja Polska. At the beginning of this year a network of authorized points - Unikasa Partner - was launched. At present it consists of almost 100 outlets.
