For more than a century, Citigroup has been part of the fabric of thousands of cities and neighborhoods around the world. With this shared history comes a special responsibility to make a difference in the communities where we live and work. Grants are made to reinforce community-led efforts to revitalize low-income neighborhoods around the world where Citigroup has a presence. The Foundation seeks to support community development corporations, intermediary organizations, and community development financial institutions that:

• Develop affordable housing and community infrastructure
• Encourage entrepreneurship and economic development
• Strengthen microfinance institutions to assist entrepreneurs in accessing capital
• Promote welfare-to-work initiatives
• Boost environmentally sustainable growth of local economies
• Support community-based health and human service programs
• Respond to disasters in communities where Citigroup has a presence
