Citi's footprint in Malaysia dates back to July 1959, two years after the country obtained independence from the British. Beginning with 17 employees in a two-storey shop house located at Medan Pasar, Kuala Lumpur, the organization has grown in tandem with the nation as a provider of premium financial service and innovative products. Currently, it employs more than 3,500 staff, of which more than 95% are local.
 
Locally incorporated in 1994, Citi now serves customers across seven branches in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor and Selangor.
