What You Need For residents of Canada:

Submit a signed application
A cheque drawn on a personal bank account in your name held at another Canadian Financial Institution for the initial deposit, if this is your first account with Citibank Canada.

OR

Submit a signed application
Two pieces of original identification of which one is with a picture.

Identification
Please provide two photocopies of identification, which have been authenticated by a Citigroup employee. A minimum of one piece must be from the Primary list and bear a photograph.

Driver's License issued in Canada
Canadian passport
Certificate of Canadian Citizenship
Permanent Resident Card or Citizenship and Immigration Canada form IMM 1000 or IMM1442
Birth Certificate issued In Canada
Social Insurance number card issued in Canada
Old Age Security card issued in Canada
Certificate of Indian Status issued in Canada
Provincial health insurance card, as permitted to be used for identification purposes under provincial law
   
Secondary Document
Employee identity card, issued by an employer that is well known in the community, bearing the individual's photograph
A bank or automated banking machine or client card bearing the name and signature of the individual
A major bank credit card bearing the name and signature of the individual
Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) client card bearing the name and signature of the individual
A foreign passport
